Galaxy Brain Printing Library
The Galaxy Brain Printing Library is a community resource established to explore the principles of "Library Socialism," a political theory inspired by the public library model. It operates in Alameda and San Francisco counties, providing access to a risograph printer and two 3D printers under specific conditions.
Resources and Access
- Equipment: The library includes a risograph named "Animal" and two 3D printers, "Rizzo" and "Rowlf."
- Usage Limits: Members can annually print up to 100 two-color sheets (4 masters) on Animal and use the 3D printers for a total of 3 hours.
- Eligibility: Membership is open to residents of Alameda or San Francisco counties.
Policies
- Design Licensing: Members may print items in the public domain or from approved platforms like Thingiverse. Personal designs must be licensed under CC0 (public domain).
- Membership Fees: Membership is covered through taxes and Galaxy Brain subsidies, with no additional charges.
Membership Process
